Spelt, Free Threshing

The Free Threshing Spelt came from Wilder Jones and his foray into the Grain Trials for the Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance SARE grant (2020, Glenns Ferry, ID).  This is the first generation of the grain that naturally dehulled itself, so it needs to continues to need work.  We have had feedback on just how “free-threshing” our “free-threshing” varieties are, depending upon the threshing system used.   Help us move these populations away from needing to be dehulled by saving, planting and sharing only those seeds that thresh cleanly using your system.  Remember these gifts are “works in progress” that we all get to grow and improve!
