It was designed to grow in th maritime climate found in Western WA.I planted it at the end of September and walked away. I planted 2.5lbs of seed, as did another farmer in our valley, and I yielded 43lbs from the harvest and the other farmer 30lbs. We are subject to flooding here in the late fall and winter, so I planted it on an elevated area and had zero issues, other then deer bedding down in it. No mold nor disease. It was designed to grow in our wet, maritime climate, but specifically in the Skagit Valley, which has a slightly different soil profile. We have 10'-12" of topsoil followed by 300' of hard pan clay. I did make one loaf of a peasant bread with it and found it to be nutty and flavorful. The dough was easy to work with and the bake behaved as a typical, all-purpose whole wheat flour. It wasn't dense and was delicious.
